Starting Clash with Windows, silently

To have the proxy ready every time you boot, enable two switches on the General page:

Together with the remembered System Proxy state, this gives you boot-and-forget proxying.

When autostart stops working

  1. Disabled by security software or the system's startup manager — check Task Manager → Startup and make sure Clash for Windows is Enabled;
  2. Installed in a directory that requires admin rights, so UAC blocks the launch — install to a user directory or adjust the restriction;
  3. A portable copy was moved — autostart still points at the old path; toggle Start with Windows off and on to re-register.

If you use TUN mode, also install Service Mode so the core runs as a system service at boot and creating the TUN adapter no longer prompts for elevation.
